These free, six week courses are designed for parents or guardians of children diagnosed with mental illnesses.
Taught by trained NAMI members, NAMI Basics examines the illnesses themselves, how they manifest themselves, medications, and strategies for helping the afflicted child. Of particular relevance to parents/guardians, these courses give information and advice on how to interact with school and public entities which also work with the children.
NAMI Basics classes are normally offered in both the spring and fall. Child care and a light meal are provided free of charge. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or (740) 593-7424.
